Side Quests

100-day ui challenge

To keep my creative energy flowing and strengthen my design instincts, I’m completing a 100-day UI challenge—one hour of focused design work every day. Each sprint pushes me to explore new styles, refine my visual design skills, and think more critically about usability and storytelling in interface design. This daily practice has sparked ideas that have grown into larger projects, including PeakBagger, a GPS hiking app that helps users explore the geography around them, and a music-based dating app that connects people through shared playlists and soundtracks.

Mixed Media

I’ve been drawing since high school and have explored a wide range of media, from pencil and ink to watercolor and digital illustration. Lately, I’ve been especially inspired by designing tattoo concepts and building my digital drawing skills in Procreate. Drawing helps me stay connected to the creative process beyond the screen, it sharpens my attention to detail, composition, and visual storytelling, all of which feed directly into my work as a designer.

photography

I first fell in love with photography in high school, experimenting with macro shots and bold color compositions. Over time, my focus has shifted toward nature photography, inspired by the landscapes and textures of the Pacific Northwest. Capturing light, detail, and atmosphere through the lens has deepened my appreciation for natural forms and subtle textures, elements that often find their way into my design work.
